The Arthritis Foundation Northern and Southern New England Chapter serves five New England states-Connecticut, Maine, New Hampshire, Rhode Island, and Vermont. The Foundation provides services to over 1.5 million residents who have arthritis, chronic joint pain or one of the 126 related diseases. We support $1.9 million in arthritis research grants in our chapter area. We offer services, including educational, exercise, self-help and advocacy programs We host a variety of special events to raise funds to support our services, including arthritis walks, golf, wine tastings and black tie events.
The Arthritis Foundation's mission is to improve lives through leadership in the prevention, control and cure of arthritis and related diseases. The Arthritis Foundation, Northern and Southern New England Chapter is one of 50 chapters throughout America affiliated with the national Arthritis Foundation, formed some 58 years ago. We are a 501(c)(3) organization. We are committed to research and annually designate $20 million for new and continuing research projects throughout the country. Advocacy is a high priority and we regularly participate in the Washington DC health forums and political advisory panels.
